Museum Formula Vauxhall Title

Formula Vauxhall Picture

Model:
PSR Reynard Chassis, 2 litre 16 valve engine
Technical:
It is a 'slicks and wings' formula and, with the power of the Vauxhall 2 litre 16 valve engine, the performance of the 170bhp cars is similar to Formula 3,generating 170bhp and delivering a top speed of 160mph. The engines are taken straight from the production line and then sealed and maintained by a specialist company. This prevents any modification by the individual teams and thus ensures virtually identical performance. . With a sole chassis manufacturer, no engine tuning allowed, 'control' tyres from Bridgestone and strict controls on modifications, the formula has rapidly grown to become a major step in a young driver's career.
Best Memory:
First European race at Knutstorp in Sweden... my first ever European race victory
Worst Memory:
Spa, European Series ( Support race for Belgium GP). Sitting in 6 place, "I was tapped from behind by Kenny Brack, and sent into a spin. Just as I selected 1st gear to set off again when Alain Plasch spun after spotting me. The back of Alain's car hit the front of mine.. a pretty horrific looking crash. We both walked away. Back home, I discovered I had a broken leg after a visit to the local doctor!
Race History:
1990: Team mate to Gil de Ferran (US Cart)
4th Formula Vauxhall-Lotus Championship
5th GM Lotus Euroseries Championship
2 races then a boken leg.
